Jan

I have been sewing since childhood and started quilting in 1993. Originally making mostly traditional quilts as gifts and donations I ventured into the world of art quilts and have not looked back.

I have developed my skills by experimentation and taking various workshops with award winning quilt artists. My current work reflects my interpretations of portraits and landscapes using techniques that include machine appliqué thread painting, fabric painting and machine quilting.

I am inspired by the unique perspective of my husband's photography and the desire to capture the textures of the subjects in his photos in fiber and thread.

Dwight

In 1993 after receiving my BA degree as a criminal justice major, I married my girlfriend, Jan, and moved away from Florida to begin our new adventure together.

I spent many years working in the travel industry before rediscovering my passion for photography. This rediscovery was mostly due to the births of our children and my desire to document their lives through photographs.

In order to pursue a career in the field of photography, I began working in a pre school as a teacher's aid and coached school sports while taking courses and workshops to improve my photography skills. I received training from the local community college, the Washington School of Photography and the Maine workshops in Rockport.

I have worked as a freelance photographer covering political campaigns, the Volvo Ocean Race, company events and documentation for the Red Cross.
